South Texas Section has a membership of over 4100 located in the counties in and around Houston. Besides the main Section, South Texas is composed of several technical and sub-chapters. Meetings of the groups are held September through May in various locations. The South Texas Section meets the third Thursday of the month at evening dinner meetings in the central area of Houston.
& Maintenance Technical Chapter
Meets the second Thursday afternoons at 3:00 p.m. at various industries in the Ship Channel area, with topics relating to plant engineering and maintenance by experts in the field.
The technical chapter sponsors the Plant Engineering & Maintenance Trade Show, held each April, with technical sessions and vendors in the trade, the proceeds from which are a primary contributor to the South Texas Educational Fund which distributes the South Texas Section Scholarships annually.
The technical chapter also sponsors seminars on the most current issues in the industry.

Located in Victoria, Texas, has dinner meetings with topics that reflect the various industries located in the surrounding cities. The Sub-Section presents a Mechanical Trade Show each fall, the proceeds from which fund scholarships to high school students entering college to major in engineering.

Texas Gulf Coast Group
The youngest group in the section, meets the third Tuesdays in Lake Jackson with dinner meetings. It is composed of members from the industries in the Freeport - Lake Jackson area, and features topics of interest to their industries.

Northwest Houston Chapter
Topics covered relate to the oil and gas industries at lunch meetings on the fourth Thursdays of the month, at Stress Engineering Services, Inc. with speakers that are experts in their fields. The Northwest Chapter co-sponsors seminars periodically on current issues in the industry.
